【讲座简介】:
The digital economy is fundamentally driven by the capacity to collect, utilize, and analyze vast amounts of data to create personalized and impactful experiences. This economy, intertwined with the advancements in the Internet, big data, cloud computing, artificial intelligence, and blockchain, is transforming global business landscapes in ways unimaginable three decades ago. By reshaping resource allocation, economic structures, and competition on a global scale, the digital economy has emerged as a pivotal force.
The COVID-19 pandemic has accelerated this transformation, pushing businesses and daily life increasingly online, thereby highlighting digital transformation as a cornerstone for economic recovery and competitiveness. Specifically, in China, the digital economy is not just a driver of economic growth but a strategic focus of national policy. The Chinese government’s ambitious "Digital China" strategy and various policy initiatives have propelled the digital sector to new heights, fostering innovation and economic diversification.
China's journey through phases of digital policy evolution, from early information infrastructure in the 1990s to the comprehensive "Digital China" strategy post-2015, has laid a robust foundation for its digital economy. Today, China's digital economy contributes significantly to its GDP and employment, leading the world in areas like 5G network coverage and e-commerce. However, challenges remain, such as bridging the technological gap with Western countries and enhancing data governance.
Internationally, China is advancing its digital footprint through initiatives like the Digital Silk Road and the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP), aiming to establish a China-centric global digital order. Despite these strides, the digital economy's rapid growth must be balanced with regulatory measures to ensure sustainable development and global cooperation.
